London. May 2

So our first full day in London was May the 2nd and we spent it along the river, exploring and getting our bearings. We went to Borough Market, an amazing food market where we ate the most ridiculously over the top cheese toasty and a double carb foccacia, because who doesn't want potato on bread.

After eating all the food, we headed towards Tower Bridge and on our way found the Tower of London. We walked around and took many photos, mostly of Ash. We then crossed over Tower Bridge and walked along the Thames, until we reached Tate Modern.

The Tate Modern was amazing to see, especially after hearing so much about it. To casually walk around such amazing artworks by artists you've heard about for so many years, will always be a little overwhelming. It was a great building and full of very different art, presented in many different ways and it was a bit of an adventure. After exhausting the gallery (or at least the free areas of it) we continued our walk along the Thames.

Fighting our way through more incredible street food markets we came across the London eye and then to the bridge where we tried for an unreasonably long time to get the perfect cliché London shot of Ash standing in front of; Parliament, Big Ben, a red double decker and a taxi. Finally moving on to get a closer look at the buildings and then walking to Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden.

Havin' a laff

No red bus though

After a trip back to our apartment in Shoreditch, we decided to check out another small pop-up street food festival in a car park around the corner and settled on the best mac and cheese we've ever eaten, and some great Columbian food.
