Avignon. June 23

Today we decided to just walk around Avignon and explore the city. Avignon is still a walled city and is very provincial and idyllic. We wandered around the little streets and hit the wall a few times before coming to the Palais des Papes or ‘The Papal Palace’. The palace is very large and very grand and is totally Duloc?? Castle from Shrek. We entered the palace from a square full of impressively decorated facades and took ourselves around, rather than following a audio guide. It was generally pretty interesting, however we have become pretty loose with feigning interest, when we really actually don’t care. Haha, woops. The building was pretty great though and the view from the tower at the top was amazing!

GUYS. View from our window

much amaze, wow sky

Mum, I found a door!

Is that Favre?

After the palace we made our way to the river, which we had seen from the tower lookout. The colour of the river was in incredible blue and we had a look at Pont Saint-Benezet, a bridge that now only crosses half the river and costs too much for us cheapos to actually walk on. Pretty beautiful though!

We walked around for a while longer and then headed back to our apartment for a rest. On the way back, we found a jeweller literally 3 stores across and down from our doorway, so we both took our broken necklaces down to get fixed, which she did right in front of us for cheap. Success!

After the siesta, we headed back out to walk around and explore a different area of town and then ended up at dinner just around the corner. We ate a French dinner and then headed home again.

That hair swish though. Sassy.

Plant love. (Ash got hungy)

FYI our door

So this doge (black one) was in love with Yorkie and wouldn't leave without laying down
