Budapest. August 8

This morning we decided to cross the bridge again and go have a look at Buda castle. After waiting in line in the sun for one million years to take the funicular to the top, we decided that despite there being a hill, it would be better to just walk up in the shade. It was worth it because the views were beautiful and it took us to the far edge of the castle where you could climb some stairs up to some old ramparts. We walked to the main section of the castle and stood for a while admiring the view from the main lookout and then walked through the surrounding village.
We headed back down the hill, and took a short walk through Buda, before heading back over the bridge to Pest.

We went to the burrito place near our apartment for lunch and had limey coronas too. Amazing! So summery and tasty. We also got the rose gelato again which was a dream!
Due to heat lethargy, we took Ash’s blanket and some pillows down to the park and laid in the shade for a couple of hours.

Later in the evening when the sun was gone, we went for a walk back to the market area Ash had explored earlier. Andrew and Jeanette had mentioned that there was a building in the shape of a whale, and we needed to check it out. The walk was pretty nice, and although we may have been too close to get the proper view of the whale shape, the building was pretty great!
