Vienna to Ljubljana. August 15

Today we caught the train to Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia! The train took a while as we had to change half way, but the view was ridiculously beautiful. The Slovenian countryside was pretty much what you could hope to expect, mountainous, green and covered in a mist that made the sun shining through the mountains look incredible.
We got to the station late afternoon/early evening and found ourselves walking through a very out-of-city, local suburban neighbourhood. In fact, the city centre was only about 15 minutes walk, but you wouldn’t have known. We got to the apartment and rang the number of our host’s neighbour, who didn’t speak a word of English. He said something to Ash, and then hung up. About 10 minutes later we were greeted by the friendly old man and taken up to the apartment.
This was our first place to have an actual air conditioner, so we were very thankful. Although we also noticed the presence of some ants around the house…more to come on that.

Lots of Love,
A&E
