We decided that we should probably leave the house, and headed in search of Templehofer park, an old airport/runway now a park, that isn't too far from our place. Even though it was supposedly close, we still struggled to figure out how you get into the park. We ended up walking much further than we needed to but finally found our way in. It is a pretty amazing park, firstly its huge, and it is pretty ideal for bike riding, with the long runway prime to race down. Also there are sections of grass dedicated to community gardens and grilling spots. We found a patch of grass to lie on and spent the afternoon watching families come together, bringing with them grills and food to make an amazing feast. It was very very idyllic. We had to then leave because we had to meet Small/Kaylin at the canal at 7pm, so we headed home via karlstadt, a shopping centre/David jones like place near our house. We intended to only get dinner but got sucked in by the deli guy who made us try all these amazing dips that all had feta in them or some kind of cheese. I mean, it would be rude not to! We ended up buying one, that was amazing, along with pasta and a creamy Gorgonzola sauce.

Back home we made our pasta then headed out to meet Small. The canal was so nice, with heaps and heaps of Berliners sitting along the banks drinking in the evening sun. It was so ideal and exactly the type of Berlin we wanted to experience. We had to leave just before 9pm, because we'd signed up to do a pub crawl.
The pub crawl was pretty fun, we met a fellow Melbournian who actually went to the same uni and campus at the same time as Elise, so weird, and a guy from London, who is the funniest person ever. Returning back to our place rather late we thoroughly enjoyed our feta dip we'd bought, after McDonald's for the second time rejected our mcflurry request. I mean, no it's not okay to have a 24 hour McDonald's that turns off its ice cream machine at night. WHAT ELSE WOULD WE GET. Anyway, our feta was delish and we went to bed very happy.
Much love,
A&E
