We had an early start today which was tough because we are getting mega lazy. We had to meet the Brands at their hotel in central Prague at 8.15am, which was totally fine except we attempted to make coffee with the coffee machine at our apartment before we left. Sadly we bought he wrong milk, an accident that often has happened to us, and added Kefir (google it) milk, so gross. We had to pour out our coffee and go caffeine free. Tough, we know.
The bus ride to Cesky Krumlov (Cesky= Czech, Krumlov= horseshoe) was around 3 hours on a minibus, with a tour guide who gave us many facts about Prague and the Czech Republic in general as we drove. Arriving in Cesky we wandered through the manicured palace gardens and then walked over the river, that horseshoes around the town, to get to the main town square. Here the group split and we went up to the cathedral and to an amazing lookout over the town below and the palace atop the hill. Meeting with the bus group again we got an included lunch before going to the palace for a tour. The palace is decorated pretty ridiculously, which is accurate to how it once was. It is divided into different sections, and each section decorated as to a certain time period in the palaces history and owners. But all were pretty insane. No photos allowed though. But I mean, did you really want to see crazy palace decorations? Instead we have only beautiful view shots, which are so much nicer.

Also bears live below the palace. Actual bears. Because apparently they used to keep bears so for authenticity they have them there now. We were all a little unsure about this idea. Let's just say it wasn't a zoo worthy enclosure. Also, there were many, many bear skins throughout that palace and apparently a whole lot more in storage, all of which were once their beloved pets. Lurvely.

We then drove back to Prague, and with our last evening with the Brands we decided to show them our place in Prague 2 and go to one of the recommended restaurants from our amazing airbnb host. Okay so let's preface this with the fact that we had no real indication of what Czech cuisine was, apart from goulash and trdelnik. The food we had at this restaurant/pub was maybe the best we'd had all trip. Okay we've had heaps of good food, let's not get ahead of ourselves. But it was for sure top 5 worthy. INCREDIBLE. We all tried something different, but began with pork crackle. This is not something we are keen on but were happy to give ago. IT WAS THE BEST EVER. Like, on a scale of 1 to melt in your mouth amazing this pork crackle won. Firstly it was meaty and melty and crackly. And it had mustard to dip into. We'll move onto mains now. We all were so pleased with our meals. It's hard to recall what each dish actually was, because they were kinda odd, but all meaty and all amazing. Also it was literally around he corner from our place so we decided to come back. Twice.
We said our sad farewells to the Brands and thanked them so much for joining us for some of our adventure and making our Prague stay so fun! Mostly it was the best seeing friendly faces in our trip and getting those home feels, if only for a short time.
Much love,
A&E
