Vienna. August 14

Hey. Guess what? IT WAS HOT TODAY AGAIN. It neverrrrrr enddddsssss. Deal with it, because we had to IRL. But we fought through it, needing to really do some quality touristing. Today on the itinerary was Belvedere Palace. We had intended to meet up with Grin but we left later than planned so couldn't get onto her. Luckily we ran into her at the ticket office for the palace which was pretty coincidental and lucky. We all then explored the palace which is now separated into different areas, which are basically art galleries with works by the likes of artists such as Klimt. We saw The Kiss amongst many of his works. It was pretty spectacular. The main struggle was walking up and down the hills between parts of the palace in the crazy heat. It really was tough. However, we won't deceive you all, there was AC within the buildings, which was a dream.

After discovering the palace we split from Grin as we were heading to a contemporary art gallery, 21er Haus, and Grin was going down to the river. The art gallery was pretty fun, with Tomas Saraceno's 'Becoming Aerosolar' (a giant balloon made of plastic bags) which we could climb inside and rest in the cool, cool, quiet area.

We then returned to the town hall to sample some food from the food stalls before going back to our place for a rest break. For dinner we met up with Grin and tested out some Wiener schnitzel, delish. We said our farewells to Grin who was headed to Spain to start her year long exchange through uni. We had to pack that night for another travel day, next to Ljubljana in Slovenia!

Much love,

A&E
