Prague. July 27

This morning we started our day at the Mucha museum, which was a small but super nice collection of some of Alphonse Mucha's sketches, prints, paintings and personal items. There was also a short film about his life and work. After some time at the museum we headed down to the corner to a place called Soup in the City, and we got some soup and bread and loved life.

After filling our bellys with soup, we decided to get our second stomachs ready for tasty treat time. We headed straight for the Trdelnik stand to try out their very delicious, spiral donut looking snack. It was super good. We aren’t really sure why it hasn’t taken off as a market stall snack at home, but we expect it wont take much longer. Basically, they’re donut dough, spun around a large wooden pin, baked over coals, and rolled in cinnamon. It’s warm and crispy and doughy all at the same time. A++, 10/10.

After enjoying our snack, we took a wander around the city and stopped at places we hadn’t been able to the day before. We didn’t stay to watch the astronomical clocks performance , but we did take a closer look at it.

Fouuuund them Shaz!

Eventually we made our way down to the Vltava river to have a look at the famous Charles Bridge. We made our way over, through the throngs or tourists and sellers of tacky things, having a laff at some of the statues along the way. Throughout the day the sky had been a magnificent blue scattered with gathering clouds, and by this point they were pretty magnificent looking cumulus clouds amongst a darkened sky. As we walked further up the road leading from the bridge some drops began to fell and then suddenly it was pouring!

So dreamy. Much feelings.

Wow.

wind.

WInd.

WIND.

Oh. Em. Geeeeee dat sky tho

We got our umbrellas out and made a dash for the train station, or at least, a dash and then a sudden stop when we realised we were totally lost. Eventually we got there, very wet and muddy! We caught the train back to our home station and by the time we got outside again, the rain had calmed. We walked back to our apartment to dry off and get cosy.

We headed out again later that evening to meet Andrew and Jeanette for dinner at an Italian place they had tried out near their hotel. We had many chats and got super full.

Love A&E
