Athens to Paros. September 2

This morning we left our bags in the apartment to go grab some breakfast at a bakery and to find a post office. We headed back to collect our bags and took them into the centre of town to store at a luggage storage place and spent the next few hours wandering around and eating froyo. We collected our bags earlier than we needed to and made for the port where we would be catching our ferry at 5pm. Luckily our boat was ready to board an hour early and we took the ESCALATOR up a couple of floors because the ferry is HUGE. We propped ourselves at a table by a window and made ourselves comfortable for the next 5 hours. We spent the time listening to our music, podcasts and drawing and Elise may have had a mini nap. There was also the most amazing sun set over the water, where the sun looked huge and gave the illusion of disappearing before it hit the horizon.
We ended up getting super hungry and ate some oregano Lays, which were weird and we do not suggest you ever opt for this flavour.
Eventually we got our call to head down to the ramp where the cars and trucks are and wheeled our bags off the boat and onto the island of Paros.

We walked (dragged) ourselves to our pension (mix between hotel and motel and B&B) and met the lovely host who showed us our room. We didn’t spend long here as the chips had done little for our hunger and we had eyed off a gyros place on the way to our accommodation. We walked down the road, past the ancient graveyard and ordered ourselves a chicken gyros each, which we then took down to the port and ate on the rocks, looking over the water and the lit up Antiparos.

Lots of love A&E
