We sailed today from Nicholas Island via the sunken city to Gokkaya Bay where we settled for the night. The sunken city is basically a city that has over time been covered by a straight of water. It once spanned across two area that are now disconnected by water. It was pretty cool to see and there were remnants of staircases leading out of the water.
Before reaching Gokkaya Bay we stopped at this idyllic quiet bay that was perfect for swimming with water so clear it was a dream. This is when the ice cream man turned up with his overpriced ice creams that we all climbed out of the water onto the boat to find our cash and get. Pretty fun!
We then sailed on to Gokkaya where we docked for the night. That afternoon before dinner the Captain told us it was party night, and we somehow figured out that we'd be going to some Pirate Bar that is literally the only building on land.
So after dinner, the captain invited us all to some drinking games. We are good sports and decided to participate. Not so great choice. The game was one of luck, and it's a bit tricky to explain, but basically it involved 6 glasses, a dice and filling the glasses or drinking the glasses corresponding to the number you'd rolled on the dice. Somehow we were the unluckiest people in the game, happening to roll the dice when all the glasses were full, often having to quickly skull wine followed by a spirit followed by beer times 6. We literally drank everyone's drinks and it was ridiculous. But we had fun!
We then got a little pirate boat taxi to the Pirate Bar and danced the night away before returning to boat for some serious chats with the chef about how many ways he could cook eggs and the varieties we would get to try on the boat. For those wondering the answer is 5- boiled, scrambled, fried, omlette and the wildcard, scrambled with sausage. Apparently no one else shared our egg curiosity and the whole next day they all decided to mock our conversation because who cares about eggs they said. Ugh how dare they.
