We took the metro one stop to the central train station from which we took the airport express train. It was pretty early and so we waited until after our bags were checked to get breakfast. Amazingly there was a café there that made amazing paninis and coffee so we were very content.
We got the plane to Athens, which was a pretty short flight and took the train into the city. The train got super packed and getting out bags out was an absolute nightmare, even though we recruited the help of some fellow travellers.
We swapped trains and once we got off at our stop, were totally lost and confused. We wandered around for a while amongst the many, many cats, and locals offering false help, when really they just wanted to sell us things. We made it to our building and after fighting with the lift to our 5th floor, were pleasantly surprised by our very clean and comfortable apartment. We chilled out in the cool here for an hour or so and then went in search for dinner.
We sat down at a restaurant not too far from our place and were served delicious food. We had a Greek salad, chicken and spinach with lemon and potato salad.
