Today mainly consisted of gathering foods for our picnic this evening. We joke. Maybe. We actually went to the San Lorenzo street market in the morning and got some deli ingredients from inside the market hall, we then took these home and put on some washing.
Our afternoon consisted of:
-gelato (obvs we're in Italy)
-Having a look inside the Duomo
-the best pizza we've probably ever had. If you know us (which you do), this is a big call, but it was so so so so good. Like amazing base. Perfect sauce ratio. And the bufala was sparing but still adequate to melt into the sauce and go all creamy and yum. Make note, we will return.
-watching caricaturists and artists at work for several hours. We planted ourselves behind one guy and watched him for ages, drawing some (often not so great/accurate) sketches of families, friends and individuals. It was so entertaining. We then saw an amazing artist at work, spending what seemed like two hours drawing a young girl. The family's dog had a proper sleep during the course of the drawing, and we never got to see the end product, heading for a river walk before he finished.

At sunset we (and every other tourist in Florence) went up to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sun set over Florence and then enjoy our delish picnic under bronze David. It was so good. We ate and sat for ages before giving into the mosquitoes and heading back down the hill. On the way home we took a detour, deciding to walk over the Ponte Vecchio ay night. The atmosphere there in the evenings is amazing, which live music being played to a decent audience of both locals and tourists.

Continuing the walk home, we went into a little church near our street and were pretty pleased we did. It was so nice inside, with an organ recital going on and there were numerous notes from people to saints praying for their loved ones, or for their health or for things they needed.
