We followed our airbnb’s directions to the owners Kebab House, where a nice lady who didn’t speak English met us. We told her we were there to stay at ‘Alibaba’s House’ and she smiled and led us up and around the corner to the house.
We waited down stairs for a while as she called the owner (possibly her husband/brother/brother-in-law) and then handed the phone to Elise. The man told Elise that he had made a booking mistake and on our last night, we might have to go to his other accommodation because the other people who booked the room had also booked another room and they ‘needed’ to stay together. Even though we actually booked first. So after being assured that the accommodation was the same as what we would be staying in for the first 2 nights, we really had no choice but to accept. And anyway, he said he would confirm with us that the swap would actually have to go ahead.
So we were shown up to out room and after settling in, we went for a walk around town. ‘Town’ is very small, but nice enough. We walked back via ‘Alibabas’s Kebab House’ and had dinner there with some apple tea to finish. The owner also has a rug store attached which is run by an Australian/Turkish man, who sounded super okka .
We went back after being harassed by many cats.
Lots of love,
A&E
